ENGINEERED BREAD® is the first in a series of Made in Foodendi products: almost a manifesto and a flag, a product in which we believe strongly and around which we have designed an innovative service that will help people make good food an important and rewarding part of their day. Starting with Good Bread.

The genesis of the project

For much of human history, bread has been a symbol of nutrition and often the very synonym for food. A simple formula that in local tradition has acquired great richness of form and flavor. A bread that is almost always handmade, very often to be eaten by the family itself, always looking for the most sustainable and economical ways to bake it.

In modern life, bread has gradually become a very different product from what it was in the past. Most of the bread that is sold today is industrially produced and sold over the counter or packaged; it is almost always made only or mostly with refined flours. Consumers have effectively become accustomed to what the distribution offers them.

Most of this bread has no special taste characteristics, does not last long (very often from morning to night it is almost inedible) and also has low food value.

The excellences of traditional bread-making obviously still exist, but they are chosen less and less by consumers, especially those who are not food enthusiasts. Traditionally produced bread, on the strength of being a premium product compared to “normal” industrial bread, is sold at a significantly higher price.

 

Good bread should be a key food in everyone's diet, nutritious and healthy, tasty and aromatic, but also practical and easy to store to meet modern needs.

 

Good bread, in addition to all this, should also be an extremely accessible and affordable product, both in absolute terms and in relation to its food value.

 

As bread and baking enthusiasts, interested in nutrition and the way people eat, we decided to develop this bread, designing it in detail as a food and as a product so that meets all the requirements that we think are those of an everyday bread, in the best possible way.

 

The characteristics of ENGINEERED BREAD®.

Selected flours, quality yeasts, processing and baking according to well-defined procedures, sizes and shapes designed for today's life. It almost sounds like simple good bread - and indeed it is - but it is so much more.

 

ENGINEERED BREAD® is excellent as soon as it is bought, good for up to seven days, perfect for home freezing and equal to fresh when thawed properly, always delicious toasted or biscuited.
